The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Operational Risk Management - Control Assessment, to support the delivery of best‑in‑class operational risk and control assessment practices within a Wealth Management environment.This contract role plays a critical part in delivering high‑quality operational risk reporting and insights, enabling management to make informed business decisions. You will help connect risk information across products and business areas, driving a consistent, standardised and streamlined approach to control assessments and reporting.In addition to reporting, the role contributes to centralised operational risk practices, including Risk and Control Self‑Assessments (RCSA), Risk Appetite Measures and Key Risk Indicators, with a strong focus on innovation, analytics and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Strengthen the control environment within a Wealth Management business as part of a shared services model.
• Support the annual control assessment cycle using a structured, data‑driven planning approach.
• Design and execute innovative testing methodologies, incorporating analytical techniques and AI where appropriate.
• Partner with business stakeholders to review control documentation, identify gaps, and rationalise key controls.
• Communicate assessment results clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.
• Act as a centre of excellence for control assessments, providing guidance, coordination and execution support.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance and optimise reporting, ensuring focus on key metrics and insights.
• Stay informed of industry trends and best practices, incorporating relevant learnings into control assessment activities.
• Provide thought leadership to influence a consistent, efficient and scalable approach to operational risk reporting and assessments.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of operational risk management frameworks, control assessments and related practices.
